All your writing is stored locally on your device. Nothing is sent to external servers. If you use iCloud Backup, your app data may be included in your device backup.
Yes. Bookshelf includes a built-in export feature that lets you save your books as files to the Files app, iCloud Drive, or any location you choose. We strongly recommend backing up regularly.
Deleted items are moved to the Bin inside the app, where you can restore them. Items in the Bin remain available until you permanently empty it.
Yes. Bookshelf is fully offline — no internet connection is required to use any feature.
Yes. The editor supports Markdown formatting with live syntax highlighting. You can also preview your pages as styled, formatted text.
Bookshelf uses a flexible hierarchy: Books contain Chapters, which contain Topics, which contain Pages. You can drag and drop to rearrange in the Outline view, and move items between parents at any time.
