Privacy Policy

Overview

Bookshelf ("the App") is developed by Noel High. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your rights.

Data Storage

All content you create — including books, chapters, topics, pages, and cover images — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export or back up.

Data We Do Not Collect

The App does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. Specifically, we do not collect:

iCloud & Backups

If you use Apple's iCloud Backup or iTunes/Finder backup, your App data may be included as part of your device backup. This is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours.

Exports & Backups

When you export or back up your data, files are saved to a location you choose (e.g., Files app, iCloud Drive). We have no access to exported files. It is your responsibility to ensure all exported content complies with applicable copyright laws.

Imported Books

When you import a book from Apple Books or other sources, only metadata (title, author, cover image) is stored locally for organisational purposes. No copyrighted text is copied or stored. Imported book data never leaves your device.

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. There are no third-party SDKs embedded in the App.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected or transmitted, the App is safe for users of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the App with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
